How Many Gay Pride Puerto Rico’s Are There?
Many people are surprised that Puerto Rico has not just one, not two, not three, but MULTIPLE gay prides, with more and more municipalities joining in. Condado Pride, AKA San juan Pride is typically, but not always, the first weekend in June. (for example, during election season, this may be moved to later in the month to avoid conflict with primary voting). San Juan pride is marked by a fun, participative float parade from Parque del Indio ending at Parque Escambron, around 1pm on the Sunday of Pride. Once to Escambron, there are drag shows, concerts, and performances along with booths set up for food, drink and souvenirs.
The second weekend of June, get ready for the 4-day Cabo Rojo Pride. This is the fabutastik pride event where the queers take over a small beach town community centered at the poblado de Boqueron, in Cabo Rojo. Every night is a party and the boys end up on the other side of the bridge at nightfall.
The third weekend of June there is multiple pride events, one in the surfside town of Rincon, known for their sunsets. A new pride is now starting in Guayama, “the ciudad bruja” for the entire weekend.
The end of June does not end Pride…in Puerto Rico we stretch this to the second weekend of December, where San Juan hosts the final Puerto Rico pride event, Winter Pride Fest. This is a 4-day festival with dance parties and hotel pool parties.

Gay Pride in Cabo Rojo is the second weekend in June annually and is not to miss. This has the reputation of being a nonstop party from Thursday until Monday morning.
Ponce Pride is fairly new, and is typically the third weekend in June, held in the south coast city of Ponce. This is a more intimate pride in a historical city and a chance to get to know an entire other area of the island.
Finally, the final pride of the year, not just in Puerto Rico, but in the entire northern hemisphere, is Winter Pride Fest (WPF) which is always the second weekend in December. This year, WPF is happy to announce that Miss Gay Puerto Rico will be held during the same 4-day celebration.
