Gay Hotels and Guesthouses (our favorites)

OUR FAVORITE GAY HOTELS AND GUESTHOUSES

The below are our favorite spots to stay.  After all, sometimes we go on vacation too. And where do we stay?  Usually at gay owned places.  (Sometimes we may even get inspired with ways to improve Coqui del Mar).  We have also stayed at some places that we did not enjoy so much, or that were more “gay washing”, ie, gay for the marketing but not much else). Obviously, those are not included here.

Do you like to support gay business?  And you like the freedom and comfort of a gay owned place?   We believe in supporting other gay hotels and gay guesthouses that do it right.  Here is a list of our favorites:  (We are not paid by any of the included businesses, and we have stayed at or did a day pass at all the below.  In complete transparency, we may have stayed for free, though under no condition to write something up after.  We include only gay owned hotels and guesthouses that we enjoyed and would like to return to.  This is not our complete list as we are adding to this.  Also, there are some places we have stayed at that certain aspects, we loved, such as the great management or location, while other aspects we did not.  We did not include these places. )

We will be traveling to a few other gay spots in the near future, including:  Maspalomas (Grand Canaries), Zipolite (Mexico).  We hope to get to Palm Springs and spend longer at Fire Island.  Also, Provincetown.  Key West.  And some of the gay Campgrounds.

BELVEDERE:  Fire Island, New York         This one of a kind waterfront hotel, owned and run by Julien, is a gay man’s roman dream.  Greek statues, pool, jacuzzi, and of course, the library where you can exchange more than just books.

Casa de Amistad: Vieques, Puerto Rico   This cozy, friendly and super relax gay owned guesthouse is on the idyllic island of Vieques, just 4 minutes walk to the ferry terminal and a dozen restaurants.  The owners, Mike and John, will make you feel welcome.   (This is a gay owned, gay-friendly guesthouse, and one of our favorites)

The GAYthering:  Miami Beach, Florida         This is a fun place to stay with a lively bar and gay sauna and even a very interesting pancake machine for the daily breakfast.  Very walkable location.

The Late Birds: Lisbon, Portugal  This is an architect designed, beautiful guesthouse in the middle of urban Lisbon, walkable to restaurants, shops and a popular gay sauna.

Pineapple Point: (Fort Lauderdale, Florida           This is simply a gorgeous with lush tropical gardens, pools, hot tubs, and great service.  We strive to be like these guys.
